Commercial steps up to support Severnway 2018
Earlier this month a team from Commercial Managed IT put its best foot forward in support of client Martyn Wells as he took on an epic challenge - to walk the length of the River Severn.
Martyn, who is currently suffering from melanoma, launched Severnway 2018, which saw him walk the entire length of the river, to raise awareness of the illness and funds for Macmillan Cancer Support.
From its source high up in the Cambrian Mountains to its mouth in the Bristol Channel, the Severn Way runs 211 miles through the English and Welsh countryside, following the river.
The walk took 10 days in total and a team of seven Commercial employees joined Martyn on day nine of the challenge, offering moral support and raising £1,500 towards his £35,000 target in the process.
Craig Tomes, Account Director, at Commercial Managed IT, also took part on day eight of the challenge, but this time on the water, by kayaking 12 miles of the route on the River Severn itself.
“Martyn has been a customer of ours for many years and so we were honoured have the opportunity to join him for part of Severnway 2018. Just completing one day of the walk was challenging enough so what he has achieved is truly remarkable. It’s an amazing cause and we were delighted to be a part of it.”
