University Of Oxford

The Big Data Institute (BDI) is a state-of-the-art building at Oxford University’s Old Road Campus. Opened in early 2017, this interdisciplinary research centre focuses on the causes and consequences, prevention and treatment of disease worldwide.

Commercial Interiors were instructed by the University to create a balanced floor plate that provided opportunities for staff to retreat into either formal or informal areas. All furniture provided needed to work in harmony with this buildings palatte of an external shell of grey PPC metal and interior landscape lined with horizontal timber and white ceiling mounted acoustic baffles.

To meet the client’s brief, Commercial Interiors procured and installed items of furniture from their extensive portfolio of brands Europe-wide including Vitra, Hitch Mylius, Senator, Allermuir, Wiesner Hager and Hay.
