A tree-mendous effort
There are some invitations that a member of the Commercial team just can’t turn down when it comes to sustainability or the environment…
That was the case for Lindsay Hirst when a friend of hers, who works for Capsule Insurance, asked her to come along for a day of tree planting.
All members of our team are given a paid day of leave to support a charity or good cause that is close to their heart, and so Lindsay answered the call, donned her wellies, and readied her spade.
Project Earth
Working alongside around 35 others for a project with Project Earth on the Cotswold Escarpment, the team planted an incredible 1,050 saplings – even as the heavens opened.
Lindsay said: “My friend Emma Waterman works for Capsule and invited me. She knows all about Commercial’s commitment to sustainability and the environment and knew I couldn’t turn it down.
“It was a really good day, lots of camaraderie and good humor, even through the showers and one torrential downpour, we got past the 1,000 target.”
