Prepared for anything
Following a change in legislation, the Directors of legal firm Cordner Lewis realised they could take advantage of a gap in the market and set up a new company – BDE Law – as an Alternative Business Structure. As they were anticipating high growth rates, they needed an agile and flexible infrastructure that could build and scale quickly. They looked to Commercial to deliver a virtual desktop infrastructure that would bring them the flexibility they needed.
A class above in wireless
Commercial IT Services had been working with Bradfield as their preferred infrastructure partner since 2013 and so the College invited Commercial to recommend a new design for their wireless network. A proof of concept was trialled based on a solution from Meru Networks and it quickly proved successful. Students and staff reported overwhelmingly that access to the system was both easier and more reliable than ever before.
Two schools, one team
Haberdashers' Monmouth Schools
Commercial started working with Haberdashers on a tactical basis helping implement a virtual desktop service whereby related applications can be grouped together onto a secure operating system accessible from any device. As the school was building the William Jones Foundation, a new Sixth Form centre, it was more cost-effective and efficient to go to a virtual solution rather than investing in new PCs, air conditioning and all the affiliated services.
The freedom to pursue new, exciting projects
Veale Wasbrough Vizards
Bristol-based Veale Wasbrough Vizards (VWV) is an award-winning law firm serving clients nationwide across an array of sectors. Following a merger with Vizards Tweedie, the firm acquired a new office in London, further establishing itself as a fast-growing legal practice with strong operations in two of the UK’s major cities. The IT team had the challenge of delivering a consistent and coherent IT experience across the new practice; it quickly became clear that bringing the London office’s desktop computers onto the network would pose new and complex challenges.
Beyond the cloud
Warc Ltd is an online business, giving its clients access to advertising best practice, with evidence and insights from the world’s leading brands. Warc helps businesses grow by featuring case studies and best practices from organisations like theirs around the world. As an online service, Warc has to be highly accessible, with no downtime whatsoever. Commercial helped the business migrate to a cloud solution to enable growth whilst ensuring an ‘always-on’ service for clients across the world.
A support contract that delivers on every level
Established in 1965, Endsleigh was created by the National Union of Students (NUS) to champion affordable insurance for students, when others wouldn’t. Today it is the number one provider of insurance for students, graduates and young professionals, whilst extending services to business niches as well. Endsleigh first encountered Commercial Group’s breadth of service in 2013 through Commercial’s Office Supplies division. After a glowing recommendation from Endsleigh’s procurement team, Commercial was presented with an opportunity to quote for a managed print contract.
