B Corp renewal is perfect way for Commercial Foundation to celebrate landmark anniversary

Commercial Foundation retains status among elite businesses who put purpose ahead of profit

The Commercial Foundation is celebrating the retention of its B Corp accreditation. Reaffirming its place in a global community that sees business as a force for good.

First certified in 2023, the Cheltenham-based social enterprise was required to demonstrate continued progress, deeper impact and stronger outcomes to secure recertification.

The renewed three-year accreditation places the Foundation among just 10,000 businesses worldwide proven to prioritise purpose alongside profit.

The achievement comes during a landmark year. The Foundation’s has recently marked its 10th anniversary and celebrated the 200th volunteer to complete its No Limits employability programme.

“WE’VE PUSHED OURSELVES TO DO MORE”

Head of Commercial Foundation Adam Miller said the recertification recognises a deep-held determination to keep evolving.

“If we had simply repeated the achievements that earned us B Corp status in 2023, we wouldn’t have been successful,” he said.

“We’ve continued to push forward. We’re oing more to help young people facing barriers to work or education find confidence, skills and opportunity.

“ICING ON THE CAKE”

“Recertification as a B Corp is hugely important to us. Our clients choose the Foundation because their print orders create real social value. Being a B Corp is the icing on the cake.

Since 2015, more than 200 young adults aged 16–25 have taken part in the No Limits programme. They gain hands-on experience at the Foundation’s digital print studio.

Demand for the studio’s services continues to grow, as organisations increasingly seek suppliers aligned with their social-value goals.

TRANSFORMING FUTURES

Every order placed provides valuable work experience. Helping volunteers build confidence, develop skills and take the next step into employment, education or training.

Commercial Co-founder and Managing Director Simone Hindmarch said the timing of the recertification could not be more meaningful.

“To receive this news in the same year we celebrate 10 years of the Foundation is incredibly rewarding,” she said. “Clients genuinely value the story behind the work we do.

“Every print job offers a young person the chance to learn, grow and build self-esteem. I’m inspired by every group of volunteers – by how they develop, and by how many move on to secure jobs or further training.”
