Commercial’s fundraising team of seven is proud to have completed their 500-mile cycle in a bid to raise £25,000 for the charity Versus Arthritis. The #500infive team cycled from Commercial’s head office in Cheltenham on Saturday 8 June to the company’s Leeds office, then on to the London office, finishing back in Cheltenham on Wednesday 12 June.
They have raised just over £16,000 for Versus Arthritis [VA]. VA is a community of volunteers, healthcare professionals, researchers and friends that provides support for people living with arthritis across the UK. It supports world-class research and breakthrough treatments.
Aaron George, who joined Commercial through the Commercial Foundation No Limits programme, has had the debilitating condition for many years, and was the inspiration behind the 500-mile cycle. Cheering Alan Martin, Andrew McKenzie, Liam Dutson, Mark Hallett, Kevin Ablett, Mark Butchers and Lee Williams at the finish line, Aaron said: “I’m inspired by every single one of them. What they’ve done for Versus Arthritis is just amazing, and they have great team spirit and an incredible bond.”
“I’m in awe of these guys, they’ve done a fantastic job,” added Adrian Williams, Community Relationships Manager at Versus Arthritis. “They have raised not just an incredible amount of money, but they’ve also done an amazing job to raise awareness of a very unpopular condition.”
