A Moment for Mindful Reflection
A MOMENT FOR MINDFUL REFLECTION
Put on your own oxygen mask…
We have all heard the speech, it’s delivered every time we fly, while the cabin crew are demonstrating the safety features.
“Please, put on your own oxygen mask, before helping anyone else with theirs…”
Never has that statement been more true.
At a time when we are experiencing changes to our everyday routines, it’s vital to be fit and healthy – not just in body, but in mind too.
It’s vital to ensure we all have our own oxygen masks on.
When the nation went into lockdown we all had to adapt to a never-before-seen or experienced set of circumstances.
As a managing director I was worried about how that would impact on the business, but I was also acutely aware of the impact it would have on the 300 people who work alongside me.
Our team is like an extended family and I know the vital role they all play in the success of the company and I wanted to be there to support every single one of them.
We have worked long and hard to establish a way of working, a culture, which puts the happiness and health of staff front and centre.
Now, that has become even more important.
While we shift to new and different ways of working to overcome the challenges of the pandemic, I believe it’s vital that we don’t forget the person at the centre of it all: you.
And as the night’s draw in and winter rolls around with the pandemic still among us, it’s absolutely vital that the health, wellbeing and mindfulness of any and every team member is okay.
It’s vital those oxygen masks are on and working…
Individually and collectively we have all risen to the challenge posed by lockdown and the strange circumstances that have followed.
We should all be immensely proud for making it this far.
With so much going on and so much to do, you can be forgiven for not taking the time to sit, relax and spend some time looking after number one.
So we would like to provide an excuse for doing just that…
Mindfulness colouring bas become something of a craze in recent years.
Why?
Because it works.
Research undertaken across the planet has shown that taking time to slow down and clear your mind by concentrating on colouring provides considerable and tangible benefits.
It can provide a welcome break from the pressures of home and work life and simply offer your brain a chance to wind down.
The research has shown significant benefits in people being able to relax and refocus, decrease anxiety and stress levels while lifting your mood.
We hope our complimentary mandala will provide you with an excuse to take half-an-hour out of your day and recharge your mind.
There is nothing more important that you can do during these testing times than looking after yourself.
Keep going, we will all get through this together.
Oh, and if you need some colouring pencils or pens, we can help with those too… There in The Store, see page 31 of the brochure!
Our team is like an extended family and I know the vital role they all play in the success of the company and I wanted to be there to support every single one of them.
