Established in 1965, Endsleigh was created by the National Union of Students (NUS) to champion affordable insurance for students, when others wouldn’t. Today it is the number one provider of insurance for students, graduates and young professionals, whilst extending services to business niches as well.
Endsleigh first encountered Commercial Group’s breadth of service through the Commercial’s office Supplies division in 2013. After a glowing recommendation from Endsleigh’s procurement team, Commercial was presented with an opportunity to quote for a managed print contract.
The internal print team was looking to replace its existing colour production device with a machine that was more resilient and responsive to the printing needs of the business and to ultimately reduce costs. Commercial invited Karen Tinsley, Office Manager at Endsleigh, to visit Xerox’s Innovation Centre in Uxbridge to enable her to see first-hand the tangible business benefits that would be gained from installing a Xerox C75 colour press in Endsleigh’s print room.
Move to digital
Since 2014 the savings made from using a Xerox device to print in-house collateral, stand at just over £86,000. “We are a print support team that is self-sufficient. We proved we could do internal printing with a small printer, so investing in a bigger, faster, greener, high quality printer with excellent back up service, made good business sense.”
The main challenge faced by the team was running large print runs at a moment’s notice. Karen comments: “The largest print run we can run off the Xerox machine is 5,000 leaflets, anything more than this is just not cost effective. However, so far, a lot of our print fulfilment only requires small print runs.”
